She was second wife.
He had at least 8 Children.
Jonathan's father was Michael Kearns, Mother Mary Polly Bales.
I believe Jonathan to be my ggg-grandfather

In the Mills County Pioneers section of the Mills County Web Site it shows a Jonathan Kern and Cynthia Lee settling in Mills County in 1846. Does anybody have any information other than what is listed on this page. There last name may be spelled in many diffierent ways such as Kernes/Karnes/Kearnes/Carnes etc. I would like to find out as much as possible such as children, where they are buried, etc.

my grandmothers maiden name was kerns from kansas. any info for kerns in kansas would be helpful thanks, lisa

Jonathan and Cynthia(Lee) were my GGGgrandparents. She died in the early 1850's and Jonathan married Mary Watson, a 17yr old girl and moved to Cass Co. Ne. His son Michael was already married to Elizabeth Cummings, a women 11 yrs his senior. Did your familly live in Tabor? Your father(or grandfather) was my mother's cousin. I have just gotten some great stuff out of the newspapers in the 1860's about the Kerns, Karns brother's(sons of Jonathans). Battle at the OK saloon in Plattsmouth, Ne. Also an article on Jonathan's
death is Feb 1881. I live in Omaha. Pat

On my grandmother's marriage marriage licience Jonathan Kerns and John Watson are witnesses. I believe Mary Ann Watson, Jonathan Kerns wife to be John Watson and Rebecca's sister. The Watson's & Kerns also live in Cass Co., NE Doreen Kuhlmann
