Hi Stephanie;
Thanks for replying.
I have a subscription to ancestry.com, and have searched the immigrant database extensively. It is an excellent resource but, unfortunately, has not been of help in this case.
The Pella colonists left Holland (according to Van Der Zee) on four chartered ships: the Nagasaki, Pieter Floris, Catharina Jackson, and Maastroom. Of these voyages, I could find only the passenger list of one, the June 1847 arrival in Baltimore of the Pieter Floria, at ancestry.com. (This list is also available on Luann DeVries’ webpage at
http://www.macatawa.org/~devries/pieter.htm ).
The very best online source I have found is at the Netherlands Institute for Scientific Information Services. Files containing detailed information on about 740 families can be downloaded at (
http://wwwoud.niwi.knaw.nl/us/dd_nhda/dddi/study/d0091.html).
These are part of “Study - D0091 Migrants from the Netherlands to Pella, Iowa, 1846-1880”.
