Quite a few of my ancestors lived in Lucas Co. from the early 1850's on. FORD, SAVAGE, ROBERTS & BILLINGS are just the names of my gr-greats. I have many other surnames I'm researching. Here's a brief rundown:

Jackson FORD, b. 1833 VA married Elizabeth Ellen SAVAGE, b. 1840 VA. They married in Lucas Co. in 1855.

Elizabeth's parents were:

Joshua SAVAGE, b. abt 1806 ME
Rachel unk., b. abt 1806 ME
They moved from IL to Lucas Co. abt. 1855 with their large, extended family.

One of Jackson's and Elizabeth's kids was:

Abel Hale FORD, b. 1860 Chariton; he married:
Martha Delila ROBERTS, b. 1865 Ottercreek
They married in Lucas Co. in 1887.
Abel & Martha settled in NE and they are my gr-grandparents.

Martha's parents were:

William ROBERTS, b. 1835 IN
Cynthia BILLINGS, b. 1839 IL

I have much more info on all these folks -- would love to share with those researching the same. Some of the descendants moved out of the area, but I believe some remained. I'd love to make contact with any and all.
