Hello Lee County Researchers:

Calvin Alexander McVey was born Aug. 30, 1850 in Montrose, Lee County, Iowa and died Aug. 20, 1926 in San Francisco, CA.

He was a Major League baseball player 1876-1879 with Chicago and Cincinnati in the National League playing several positions.

He also managed Cincinnati in 1878 and 1879.

I am most interested in learning of his ancestors and descendants and any related genealogical material for a book I am working on about the early players.

I do not need any of his baseball records.
