He died in South Dakota - Private funeral tomorrow

"Many friends in the city were pained yesterday to hear of the death of John W. SLATER in Oneida, South Dakota, where he has been in business for some years. The body will be brought here for burial and private funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dr. C.S. GRANT tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.
Some years ago, John W. SLATER was a leading member of the Johnson county bar, the firm being SLATER & EDWARDS. He stood high in his profession and was a man of many friends."
