Sorry for delay. I'm trying to figure this out. There is a connection. Theodore Groetken (my great-grandfather) died at the St. Francis home in Dubuque, IA. I have an undated obit that states: "Sister M. Groetken Taught 49 Years in Iowa Schools. Sister Mary Groetken, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Dubuque, Iowa for 55 years died at Xavier Hospital Saturday, Oct. 13......Sister Mary Groetken, daughter of Henry and Mary Kamp Groetken, was born in LeMars, Iowa February 2, 1899." ............... The article goes on to state that: "Cousins in the Dubuque Franciscans are Sisters Cecllia Groetken and Ella Groetken."
