Mary Lou,
If you look in "Portrait and Biographical Album of Jackson County" published 1889, p. 218, which is a sketch of John Waddle, it says "Mr. and Mrs. Waddle have no children of their own, but adopted one, Thomas Reynolds [note it is not spelled Rannals], at the age of eighteen months, and he remained with them until reaching man's estate." I am not positive on the correct spelling of Rannals vs. Reynolds, but be sure and check both in your searches.
Eliza Campbell Waddle is a daughter of Robert and Matilda Campbell (as listed on page 218 referenced above), and some of Robert and Matilda's information is posted on a page from the family Bible of John and Rachel Jennings Campbell, posted elsewhere on Rootsweb.
As far as I know, there are four Campbell families in Farmers Creek Township: Henry/Rebecca/Mary Graham Campbell, John/Mary Liston Campbell, William/Delilah Jennings Campbell [my 3rd great-grandparents), and Eliza Campbell/John Waddle. Some of these may be related, but as of right now, we don't have any conclusive link. I think Eliza Campbell Waddle, John Campbell (married to Rachel Jennings), and William Campbell (married to Delilah Jennings) may be siblings, but I have not been able to document William's parentage yet. All three came from Delaware Township vicinity, Mercer County (and John and Rachel Campbell returned to Mercer County after a short stint in Jackson County, Iowa), Pennsylvania. Henry Campbell also came from Delaware Township vicinity, but this William is not William son of Henry, but could be a nephew of Henry.
