Ed and Mary Hayes scherf are my great grandparents. I have the photo, thank you. They lived in Ventura and Clear Lake, where I knew them in my childhood.
A second cousin and I published a Scherf geenealogy a couple of years ago. Abt. $65 from the cousin, if you are interested.
Nope, not related to your Smith. My husband was a Smith.
