I realize this is an older post, but I'm also researching Matthew POWERS' family. I believe he married an Elizabeth KEYES, but not sure. Matthew was born about 1812 in Ireland and probably died in Dubuque County, Iowa between 1885-1900.
I have found 8 children via the U.S. censuses records and am especially interested in their son, William J. POWERS, born in 1860 in Dubuque County. He married a Mary A. [--?--] and I'd like to determine her maiden name.
Other children of Matthew POWERS and Elizabeth are:
Mary, Patrick, John, Richard, William, Elizabeth and Anna/Anne (who evidently married a BRENNAN.
