AGED RESIDENT
DIES TUESDAY
Mrs. Herman
Venghaus, 77 died Tuesday morning at Mt. Pleasant where she had been hospitalized for the past two years. Her death followed fifteen years of declining health during which time she was partially an invalid.
Mrs. Venghaus, the daughter of MR. and Mrs. John
Myers, was born near
Burlington on February 22, 1873. On May 26, 1898 she was married to Herman
Venghaus and for a short time they lived near New
London. In th eyears following Mr. and Mrs. Venghaus lived on farms variously located in Henry and
Des Moines county, and for a period of 21 years they lived in the
Yarmouth community. About 12 years ago they moved to Mornoing Sun where Mrs. Venghaus lived until extreme ill health forced her to enter a hospital.
Mrs. Venghaus is survived by her husband; who now resides in Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. John Todd of Morning Sun and Mrs. Ad
Smith of Kansas; and two sons Chester of
Yarmouth and Clarence of Muscatine.
Funeral services are to be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Morning Sun Methodist church.
