Surnames: houston
john houston was supposed to be in des moines county, in 1900 his son and wife was living in burlington, searching for john houston grave for a picture of his headstone, he died in henry county,died dec 23,1898 74 years,year of birth 1824, who can help,

Burlington is a thriving city, recently on the national news due to flooding from the Mississippi. Have you tried http://iowagravestones.org/ for a surname search. Many of the cemetaries are transcribed, to include photos.

still searching for elizabeth higham in 1900 she was 77 or 78 living in burlington, can anyone check for me, did she died there and buried there,

1900 she is in Des Moiones Co living in the 6th ward by herself. She was 78 b Nov 1822 in OH. Parents born NY. Mother of 9 with 5 still living. She's not on the 1910 census. That's all I find.
