Currently I'm researching my 4th great grandfather and my 5th great grandfather Newland. John C Newland was born in what became West Virginia in 1806 and died in Woodward Iowa in 1865. He married both Amy Waldo and Jane Wallace Graham. His father, John Newland is where my problem becomes a problem. John Newland Sr. was born in Sep. 1752 in Virginia and died in 1833 in Indiana. He married Margaret Ware or Weir. Sometimes I've seen it where he also married Savina Waggoner, but I honestly do not know if he did or not.
The problem is this, After John b.1752 I have problems determining who his parents were. There were several other Newlands in that area who had sons named John who were born around the same time. Has anyone else determined who his parents actually were or is this just a mystery that will have me banging my head on my desk forever? Also has anyone determined if he was in fact married to Savina Waggoner or not?
