OBITUARY - PEARL RALPH BOWLSBY
Pearl Ralph BOWLSBY, son of Clarence Ralph and Lovisa Viola (NUSSBAUM) BOWLSBY, was born December 5, 1914 in Clarke County, Iowa. He passed away December 17, 1987 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at the age of 73 years.
He received his education in the Clarke County Schools.
December 23, 1942 Pearl was united in marriage to Ava FOLAND in Bethany, Missouri. To this union one son, Keith Edward was born.
In January of 1943, he entered the service and served his country for three years with the United States Army Engineers in Europe. After returning home he farmed and operated a repair shop.
On November 5, 1956 he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, loved his Lord greatly and was a witness for Him. He helped found the Murray Bible Church in Murray, Iowa, which is now the Murray Baptist Church. He attended there several years, later returning to his home church, Calvary Baptist in Osceola.
His life centered around his family and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Pearl was preceded in death by his parents; brother Russell in infancy; sister Ardis RAMSEY and brother Clyde BOWLSBY.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Ava of Osceola; son Keith and wife Dorothy of Osceola; brothers Addison and wife Lois of Osceola, and Carl BOWLSBY of Des Moines; sister-in-law Dorothy BOWLSBY of Osceola; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held December 30 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Osceola. Rev. George V. NEAL officiating, with Rev. Lyle DeFORD, Bloomfield, Nebraska, assisting, Marjorie A. NEAL organist and Rev. and Mrs. Gary WALTERS of Chariton, Iowa singers. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
