I am researching the SCOTT family in Des Moines County. I seem to see some interactions between them and the BISHOP family. For example, a Sarah SCOTT sold some land to Joseph BISHOP for $5 (which I believe is potentially significant).

I wanted to know if you happened to know of any SCOTT ties in the BISHOP lines, or why that land transaction might make sense.

Also, the really tenuous thread is that one of the daughters of a William SCOTT in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, in whom I am very interested married a George MILLER. I'm kind of remembering, but didn't Lewis marry a MILLER? I was just wondering if that might be another possible "connection" even if very remote.
