Gan anyone give me direction as to where to look or who to contact to find the list of townships for Bremer County Iowa in the 1860- 1870 time frame?

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Joseph, have you tried the US Gen Web site under Iowa and then under Bremer County. They have alot of interesting information. Good Luck. I have ancestors in Bremer Also.

Attached is a map. I don't know the time frame but I don't think there were many changes for the original plats.

Our "Emily" family is from Horton, IA. I just wondered if Polk Township and Horton are the same. Sometimes the census says Horton and sometimes it says Polk Township. Thanks for the post.

I am attaching a part of a Bremer County Atlas map, year unknown that shows a portion of Polk Township with the town of Horton in it.

Here is a second portion of Brmere County, Polk Township showing Horton in the lower center of it. If you save the map, you should be able to enlarge it.

Sorry, that should be Bremer County and it is a map from 1875.
