In the Waterloo City & Black Hawk County Directory 1937 it says: Henry F Luedke - Cigars & tobacco, soft drink, boarding with M.N. Guyer - Dunkerton. The cemetery is called Fairview. Hope this helps.

His birthdate was June 14, 1882, according to the Chicago birth records, Henry and Sophie had a male child on that date, and that matches the birthdate for Henry F. Luedke in Black Hawk County. He is still there in 1930, but listed as single. I have not yet found a date of death for him.

My family was heavily involved with this church. Martin, Mether, Reickert, Knott. I know that the church is now part of the UCC and is on Ridgeway. Is there a printed history?

Many of my relatives came from Germany, located in Bremer County and seemed to all move to Black Hawk County. I am wondering if they were part of the founding of the church or why all of them chose to move.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

I’m not related to any member of this family.

1940 is the last available census at this time.

In order not to duplicate the searches, you need to state the names of all the decendants that you have along with 1st names + DOB's + birthplaces + relationship to William & Mollie.

What is the family's race??????????

Hello,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who could help me with the following.

I have a William & Floy (Walker) Duschen in my family tree, I am looking for information on one of their daughters, Frances or Francis Duschen who I believe was born on August 12, 1920 in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. I think she married someone with the last name of Henry.
I was wondering if someone might know who the husband of Frances was and if they had any children. Also I would like to know when she died and where she is buried, if that is possible.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you, Keith Lawrence

k79lawrence@gmail.com

I am Richard W. Brown and my great grandfather was William Lee Vernon Kincaid 1866-1900. His wife was Ella Mae Jackson Kincaid Piper 1870-1936. I was shown a picture of her and on the back it said she was direct descendant of Blackhawk & she had been disowned by Blackhawk for taking Kincaid as a husband????? Supposedly my great grandfather drank heavily and froze to death in a snow storm. After his death she left Indiana area in a covered wagon for Ohio with my grandfather Richard Vernon Kincaid (1899-1970) and his sister Edna Mae Kincaid Piper Watson (1900-1944).

I have had my dna done by ftdna and ancestrydna in hopes of finding the links. To my surprise I have found many links on my fathers side to Chief Bluejacket (Shawnee), Lenni Lenapes (Delaware) and Cherokee.

My grandfather RV Kincaid was a steeple jack and always said he was 1/2 Indian but we have not been able to substantiate this.

Any direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated. My grandmother Brown (Hoffer) lineage goes on and on but Kincaid on my mothers side does not go beyond Ella Mae Jackson.

Regards,

Dick

Thanks Steve,
I can always count on you! :) How sad that she died the way she died....her niece told me that she had "woman problems" and didn't want the hysterectomy as she wouldn't be a "woman" anymore.....it looks like it was a last ditch effort.
Oddly, I feel bad for both of them but had she lived, I would not be here...
Thanks again,
Sandy

I just realized I do not have a gravesite or obit for my grandfather's first wife, Neva Alice (Gillan) Burgess. She died in La Porte City or Waterloo on March 9, 1916, sadly she was 32 years of age. I do know she died of septicemia.
She was the daughter of Thomas A Gillan, a very well known man in La Porte City. Thank you for anything you can help me find!
Sandy Burgess McClay

This thread only shows I think 4 of 7 kids for Lauritz and Matilda. I suspect my GGG grandfather Christ Jorgensen moved to Mn before the first census listed here. He I think was their first kid, born in Denmark, and came over in 1882, at age 1 with the two of them. I found multiple records in the Mormon archives that correlate for me for this.
Christ married Mary Karen Jepson in IA and took her to MN to live out their lives.

I am trying to find out where in Germany he was born and who his parent's were. If I can find his birthplace then I have family in Germany that can look up his baptismal records. There were alot of Johannes Heinrich, German spelling for John Henry, over in Germany. I am trying to put all the spellings of Bedenbender in one tree. My Bedenbender ancestor was born in Fellerdilln, Germany in 1808 and came to America in 1851 and he had alot of sibling's, plus his grandchildren moved back and forth between Illinois, where he settled, to Iowa.

Thanks,
Kelley (Bedenbender) Gillham

It's kind of fun to see connections with other families. I have the Juhl tree traced back to the 1500's if you are interested. If so send me your email. Collette
