Classification: Query
Surnames: Sergeant, Sargent; Woodard, Washburn
Charles was born about 1795 in New York. Polly was born in 1798 in Vermont. Both moved with their families to Spring Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, around 1818, where they were married. They had 12 to 14 children, according to different sources.
About 1855 they moved to Black Hawk Township, Black Hawk County, Iowa, with part of their family. Their sons Asaph, Byron and Morrison spread themselves out across the state. I would like to know if anyone knows anything about any of their daughters or any other sons.
There was an Albert Sergeant (1819-1877) living nearby. Was he a member of the family? His daughter married James Washburn. Polly Woodard's mother was Lucy Washburn, my ggg grandmother. I wonder if James was a descendant of one of her brothers.
