A History of Becker County, Minnesota states that Martin Oleson came to America in 1866 and first settled in Allamakee County, Iowa. In 1869 he married Christine (Christina) Osberg.
The 1870 census of Cuba, Becker County, Iowa shows this couple with two children:
Louis Osberg, age 12, born Iowa
John Osberg, age 10, born Iowa.
I cannot find any Osbergs in Iowa in 1860, but Christina and Louis should both be there.
Were Louis and John Christina's children by a first marriage or her (much) younger siblings? John P. Osberg, born in July 1860 in Iowa, resided in Cuba in 1900. The census states that both of his parents were born in Sweden.
Would appreciate any help available on this.
Thanks in advance,
