Asael Eaton (1813-1896) and his wife Amanda (1818-1886) were from Nova Scotia. They came to the U.S. around 1848 and settled in Wisconsin. Later they removed to DeKalb, Ill., then returned to Wisconsin, and in 1857 came to Post Township, Allamakee county, Iowa and lived out their lives there.
Wells Eaton (1822-1881) and his wife Mary Wood (1825-1904) were also from Nova Scotia. In 1845 they came to Walworth co., Wis., and engaged in farming. In 1853 they came to Post Township, Allamakee county, Iowa, and lived out their lives there.
I'm guessing that Wells and Asael were brothers, the sons of
Guy Eaton and Lydia Rockwell of Nova Scotia. However, I have been known to be wrong at times.
Both Wells and Asael Eaton and many of their descendants are buried at Minert Cemetery in Post Township, Allamakee county, Iowa.
For more information about the Eatons family, see my Post Township home page. Any additions or corrections to my information is always welcome.
