Looking for any information (family stories, newspaper/book articles, obits, etc) for James Peterson and his family (parents, siblings, grandparents, children). I've found trees on Ancestry that has lots of children attached to it (over 10) and would like to confirm that all of them were James' offspring. My husband is descended from James via his son William. William had 1 child but died just before his birth in 1899 (yes, same year as his father James) so James & his wife may not have learned about this grandson Raymon. If anyone have any clue or can direct me to descendents, would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Looking for a Ruth(Guinup/Guinip/Gwinup)(Anderson)Sawyer (there is many different spelling for Guinup)Born Abt. 1828 in Ohio, USA. Ruth first married Levi Anderson, then Married William H Sawyer born Abt. 1824 in Indiana, USA. Death unknown also, both was in the 1880 census for Lovett, Jennings, Indiana, USA then nothing after that. I have info on the children from both Marriage but no Death info for Ruth G Sawyer B.Abt. 1828, William H Sawyer B.Abt. 1824, William J Sawyer B.1867 in Jennings, Indiana, USA and Lucius Bingham Sawyer born B.Abt. 1857 in Jennings, Indiana, USA. We was told both William H and Ruth died in Indiana but unable to find the info. We have had a hard time with getting info on Ruth as for like her parents and thing like that, so i you can help with any of them, we will thank thank you for ever. The Guinup/Sawyer family is the only one we have had a hard time with and will be glad to pass on the info to help others with this family. I believe it is because of the many different spellings. Thank you for your time.

Hi there. My name is Jennifer McCraw and I live in Henderson, KY. I'm trying to solve a family mystery.

I'm looking for information on the Charman family.

I'm not related to the Charman family but my family is very curious about and grateful to Arthur Charman and want to get in touch with anyone knowing details about their farm.

Here's the story: My great grandfather Charles Wambo, whom I never met, was given up for adoption along with an elidged brother, possibly named William, when he was a young boy. Some stories are that their parents died in a buggy accident, some are that the mom died first then the father died later... Charles' original last name was probably something like "Wambaugh" but when he was "adopted" by the Charman family he began spelling it Wambo. For ease, I'm assuming. Charles worked on the farm and lived with the family. Memories of his have been passed down through the generation like folk-lore - "Your great-grandpa remembers going to that big house on the hill and playing. He said he remembered calling someone 'Uncle' there..." etc.

My family tree completely stops with him because we don't know anything about his parents or siblings, his "real" last name, if there was a brother, any records from the orphanage, etc. I made a Charman family tree hoping that someone else out there would have these little snippets of memories, possibly about Charles coming to live with them, or if he ever talked about his parents...

If you have any living contacts that may help please let them know I'm looking for them just to have a phone conversation and try to unlock the secrets of Charles Wambo. I have that Arthur and Nettie had two daughters, Martha (or Mattie) who married Richard Reicard and Lula Myrtle who married Vert Conner. Do you know anyone from this line? I'm just trying to find a starting point. I'm very excited to crack this mystery. Hope someone can help!

The 1910 Centerville, Indiana census that shows Charles Wambaugh was living as a farm hand with Arthur and Nettie Charman in Centerville, Indiana.

Charles went on to marry Lilith Hanagan of Centerville in 1905. He worked as a farmer in Centerville and Abington, renting several different houses throughout. Eventually, upon Lilith's passing, Charles took the job as Cemetery Caretaker so he could be near Lilith. So precious!

My relation is Charles Wambo - Barbara Wambo Fink - Chuck Fink - Jennifer Fink McCraw

Jen McCraw
mccrawjen@gmail.com

I may be wrong about the exact location of her death. In the 1960 census, she and my great, great grandfather lived in Warren, Marion Co. Indiana. I assume that is where they were living when she passed away only 3 years later in 1863. It is so frustrating not being able to find her and who her parents are. What is the best way to locate this type of info.

Thank you in advance

My great great grandmother, Louisa Kocka or Koch married Christian Schackel in Indiana abt 1847. She was born in 1826 in Prussia according to the 1860 census. She passed away in 1863 in Terre Haute, Indiana. I am wondering if anyone knows of the process to discover her actual death date and I would love to find out when she came from Prussia and also who her parents were. I have not had any luck checking on info on Ancestry.

Thank you in advance for your expertise!

Tracey Anderson

Sarah Dummer died in Muncie, IN 24 Dec 1895 at age 30.
The record is in the County Health Office in Muncie Book H3 Page 13. If you order her death certificate it might have on it where she was buried.
Can you give me Sarah's maiden name to find William's birth record if it's in my birth index? Most of the time the child's name is not shown, just male or female. This might help my search.

A fellow ancestry.com member was nice enough to help me find 2 of the 5 records I'm looking for. There are 3 records I can't seem to find.....

A marriage of Patrick Kinney born about 1854 in Nj married Agnes Healy believe she was born around 1862, not sure where. Married around 1880 sometime. I can't find this marriage record.

They had 3 children, 2 of whom I cannot find.
1- Edward Kinney said by my family to be born in 1883 but I'm not sure of the exact date yet, I'm thinking earlier.

2- Thomas Kinney (my great grandfather) I found both his war registration cards and he wrote that he was born June 1883 in Indianapolis Indiana.

Thank you so much :)
Rhiannan

Hi Deborah, you are welcome and I'm glad this was helpful. You are now in a position to contact the family if that seems appropriate and desirable. Any children of Dorothy would be your birth aunts/uncles. The children of her siblings are your first cousins once removed.
Family can be defined and experienced in many ways. When it comes to ancestry, which is a particular facet of what our "family" is, I suspect adopted children (like your father) would look to their birth families ancestry. At least, in doing my own family tree, complete with living descendants, I have chatted with more than one adopted child and found this to be true. I'm happy that you now have a connection to those birth roots.

Mary Frances "Frannie" Isaacson obituary LINK:
http://newsandtribune.com/obituaries/x603542259/Mary-Frances...

Rosemary Dolan Dalton obituary LINK:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=10...

T.
Tamer could have been Mary's mother she married Absolom in 1847 and Mary was born in 1857 :) But I do agree I don't think this is their child.
As for Sylvanus I have all of that info and more :) He was pretty easy. I am 90% sure his wife was Della Goodrich. Although I don't have anything proving that just info I have read here and there so if you happen to find something that proves this I would be forever greatful :)

Here are my thoughts: First of all, Tamer didn't marry Absolom until 19 Aug 1847, so she couldn't have been mother of the Mary A. Presnall born 25 Dec 1857. I ALSO DON'T THINK THIS ABSOLOM WAS THE FATHER.

Absalom Presnall first married Mary Binford in Henry Co. IN 07 Mar 1832. (Found on the IN Marriages before 1850) Remarks by the marriage were: "Quaker 4-201 Duck Creek M.M.".

They had: Emily b. 09 Mar 1834 in Henry Co. IN.
Sarah Jane b. about 1836 (prob. Henry Co.)
Lydia b. abt. 1837
Joel b. abt. 1840-41
James b. abt. 1843
Sometime between 1843 and 1846-7 Mary died and Absalom
married Tamer Thomas Beauchamp 19 Aug 1847.
They had: Hannah b. abt. 1848
Enos b. abt. 1849
Lindley M. b. abt. 1856
Sylvanus b. 20 Aug 1857
Regarding Sylvanus. He was married to someone named "Della".
They were in Grant Co. in 1900 with children Archil E., Beulah G., Dwight H. and Forest B. In 1910 they were in Marion Co. Oregon. They had been married 27 years and Della had had 4 children with 3 still living. Found Sylvanus died 24 Jan 1917 in Marion Co. OR (listed just as S. Presnall; Della Presnall died in 1938; Beulah G. died 1959; and Archil E. died 1963. Archil's wife, Althia Lee Presnall died 1961. Forest V. Presnall b. 22 Apr 1892 and died 03 Jan 1907: son of S.& D. Presnall. All are buried in City View cemetery in Salem, Marion Co. OR. (Find-a-Grave)

Not sure if this is connected to you, but I found in my IN Birth Index CD a male child, Noah, born to an Enos Presnall and Cora ? (no maiden name shown) in Huntington Co. 09 Aug 1894. May just be another Enos Presnall.
Hope some of this helps you.

NascarfanN - I've started on Absolom and wives - I have a feeling he was maybe not so faithful or we have some babies born ridiculously close together. Here's my thinking PLEASE give me your thoughts. MARY A PRESNALL born 12-25-1857 died 8-28-1859
SYLVANUS PRESNALL born 8-1858. First of all this means that Tamer was the mother if he wasn't fooling around. Second if Tamer was the birth mother then she must have gotten pregnant within basically days of having Mary and Sylvanus was early or Sylvanus was like 2-3 months early and I honestly don't think he would have had a chance of surviving then. So this is telling me that either Absolom was cheating on Tamer, this is the wrong Absolom or they were really fertile! What do you think.
