Five of the 8 children of Joseph and Mary Hurt came to Wayne Co KY from Spartenburg District South Carolina. All of the Hurts in Wayne Co KY can be traced to William B. Hurt, Joseph Hurt, and James Hurt. William Hurt came to Virginia and had 1600 acres in King William Co VA. Deed Patrick Co VA 1830 names Heirs of Moses Hurt and representatives of Joseph Hurt, deceased. They intermarried with descendants of Jeremiah Burnett, Emmanuel Sandusky, Henry Tuggle. All fairly well documented. I have them all, whatever that says about Wayne Co KY. All have Revolutionary Soldiers.
