Joan V. Spath, 83, of Elkhart, Kan., passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kan. Born Feb. 8, 1926 in Albion, she was the daughter of Sam and Fannie Mae (Kuhns) Workman.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Smith of Clayton, N.M. and Sam Smith of Keyes, Okla.; three daughters, Sharon Pletcher of Columbia City, Sheila Sanchez of Elkhart, Kan. and Sara Wolfe of El Dorado, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Elkhart, Kan. Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
