Holy Smoke!

Better stop!

(Special to the

OSSIAN, Ind., Aug. 1. -- Will the motorcycle fiend scorch through the calm and quiet Auburn, loveliest village of the plain any further? Hardly. A collection has been raised by enthusiastic Ossian citizens who desire to escape being maimed for life when they cross Main street. This money is to be spent for a stop watch. Standards for taking the distance will be directed north and south of town, and every cyclist who rides through faster than the legal rate will be prosecuted to the limit. By this means the authorities hope to control the speeding evil. H. C. Hunter and others have suggested the stop watch plan of putting the fast rides out of business.
