Ossian, Ind, July 11. -- Charles H. Bell, of Chicago, arrived in Ossian, Saturday evening and is stopping with Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Allen for his ten days' vacation.
Rev. Sherman McCorkle, of McKeesport, is spending this week visiting among his Ossian relatives. He is a brother of Mrs. C. F. Goshorn, Mrs. Frank Zehrung and Mrs. Andy Glass. Miss Alice Glass, who has been visiting in his home since January, returned to Ossian with him.
The local W. C. T. U. will meet Friday afternoon at 2 p. m. with Mrs. Mary Ashburn.
Miss Garnet Runkin, of Balbee, spent the week-end visiting with her cousin, Miss Katherine Baker.
Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson were over Sunday guests at Uniondale in the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson.
Rev. and Mrs. Frank K. Baker, sons Frank and Robert, and Dr. A. G. Gorrell, motored to Winona Lake Monday, where the Bakers spent the day with Mrs. Baker's mother, Mrs. Anna Boyer, of Ossian, who recently went there from Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Thurber and their guests, Mrs. George Ady and her daughter, Mrs. Grace Dunham, of Chicago, and Mrs. Winnie Thurber motored to Harlan Sunday and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Richards.
Mr. and Mrs. Ellis W. Longfellow and daughter, Dulanna, of Edgerton, came Sunday afternoon and are guests of Mrs. Longfellow's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Ferguson.
Mrs. Herbert Fuller and sons, Willard and Carl, left Monday for their home in Selma, after a week's visit with Mrs. Fuller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Dishong. Mrs. Fuller was accompanied home by her mother and sister, Fay Dishong.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson and son, of Uniondale, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Roe.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Trevey and niece, Miss Ruby Quackenbush, were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Taylor, south of Ossian, Sunday afternoon.
Misses Florence, Edna and Esther Heckman spent Sunday at Banner City visiting with their brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Osborn. Edna Heckman stayed for a week's visit.
Mr. and Mrs. James Grabill and family took their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Toppin and son, Robert, to their home at Millgrove on Sunday. They had visited in Ossian the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Osborn have a little daughter in their home. The little lady arrived Friday night and will be called Mary Coe_ne. (big splotch in the middle of the name)
Miss Ruby Quackenbush, who has been attending school at Winona college since early in the spring, is now home for her summer vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Quackenbush.
Mrs. Harold Mahnensmith and son returned to Ossian Sunday from Hammond, where she has been doing light housekeeping for her husband, who is working there. She also visited with her sister, Mrs. E. B. Baker, of Chicago Heights. Mrs. Mahnensmith will return to Hammond in a week.
Mrs. D. C. Gorrell and daughter, Aline, of Payne, Ohio, came Saturday and visited until today with Mrs. Gorrell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Roe.
Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Henline had as Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs. Clint Divilbliss and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Divilbliss, of Huntington; Frank Henline, of Tocsin; Henry Kreigh, of Kingsland; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Henline, Mrs. Rebecca Henline, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Fry and Miss Sadie Fry, of Ossian.
L. B. Hissem received a message Sunday telling of the death of his mother, Mrs. Catherine Hissem, of South Whitley. Mr. and Mrs. Hissem left today for South Whitley to attend the funeral.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Fryback and sons and Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Koons and children, spent Sunday at Poe as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Caston.
Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Melching and family and Mrs. Emma Cline spent Sunday at Robison park.
Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Osborn spent the week-end at Warren visiting with Mr. Osborn's sister, Mrs. Mary Krewson, who is a nurse at the Old People's home.

Miss Lulu Prough, of Fort Wayne, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Prough.
Mrs. J. E. Plummer and daughter, Wilma, left Monday afternoon for Garrett, where she will do light housekeeping for Mr. Plummer and son Doyle, who are employed at Auburn Junction, near Garrett.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde White had for Sunday dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. James Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Charles White.
Jacob Fatscher celebrated his sixty-sixth birthday anniversary on Saturday and was given a surprise party by his relatives and neighbors. More than seventy-five wept with well filled baskets and enjoyed a jolly evening at the Fatscher home. Harry Kroeder, of New York and his sister, Mrs. Erskin Somers, of Indianapolis, were among the guests.
