UNIONDALE SCHOOL BOARD OF CONTROL TO MEET

Bluffton, Ind., Jan. 24. -- County Superintendent Justin Merriman has called a meeting of the board of control of the proposed new school building at Uniondale, and the board, composed of Superintendent Merriman, Trustee J. E. Harshman, of Rockcreek township, and Trustee Herbert Middaugh, of Union township, will meet Wednesday at the superintendent's office here.

A majority of the patrons of adjacent school districts of the two townships petitioned last summer for a new grade school building at Uniondale, and the three officials organized as the law specifies, but further action was delayed in a belief that the two townships could not issue a sufficient amount in bonds to build the school, after each had built new high schools, for which contracts have been awarded. However, it is said Rockcreek still has a possible bonding limit of $14,000 and Union of $12,000, and it is said this may be sufficient to build the Uniondale school.
