Uniondale News

Mrs. Bertha Riddle entertained her Sunday school class of boys and girls of the St. Mark's Lutheran church at her country home Saturday afternoon. Those present were: Mrs. Merle Bailey and daughters Elizabeth and Mary, Mrs. Henry Griffin and son Dale, Chester Swartz, Olo (?) and Brooks Brickley, Mary Harshman, Robert Morgan, John Lamb, Lloyd Riddle, Helen Gardenour.

Mrs. J. D. Hile (?) and Miss Gretchen Allen spent the week-end in Greentown with Mr. and Mrs. Vivieno Haflich.

Mr. and Mrs. George Beach spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lew in Markle.

Ralph Hoopingarner and daughters, Minnie, of Huntington, and Mrs. Ruth Dodge, of Illinois, spent Sunday in the Ed Platt home.

A farewell party was given Monday night for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith. The following people were present: Clyde Allen and family, Anne and Della Lavengood, Fred Platt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Platt, Rex Hoopingarner and family and Asbury Van Zant.

Mrs. G. A. Fisher entertained her brothers and sisters and their families at dinner Sunday to celebrate her 61st (?) birthday anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Platt, Evangeline Platt, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Platt and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamb and children, Mary, Lucile and John, were guests at dinner Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Lamb, of Huntington.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Zant and son Kenneth, and daughter Gathleen, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoopingarner were entertained in the Dee Hoopingarner home Sunday.

Ervin Hoflich, who has been ill for some time, is reported not so well the past few days.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lockwood entertained the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Hollopeter at dinner Sunday.
