Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Pence, Mr. and Mrs. John Helsey, Mrs. Lola Gilbert and children, all of Markle and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Crevenson and family, of Wabash, gathered at the Irel Pence home Sunday for a surprise for Mr. Pence.
Mrs. Howard Gilbert has been ill at the Sim Houtz home for the past few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Griffin and son motored to Tri-Lake Sunday to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. Marcey Gettle.
Mrs. William Shadle and two small children and her father spent Sunday in the Jack Byrd home near Bluffton.
Mr. and Mrs. Lou Brickley are spending this week in Markle with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lew.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lesh, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lesh, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dunn, Mrs. Sim Houtz have returned from St. Marys, Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey and sons, of Huntington, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Elias Bailey.
Grace Lesh, of Bluffton, spent the week-end in the J. A. Brickley home.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Felton and children of Huntington, spent Sunday in the Dave Jones home.
The Rev. A. W. Pugh will preach at the Old People’s home at Warren, Sunday Jule 23. A number of local people expect to attend.
