Mr. and Mrs. Fred Platt and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Platt were Huntington visitors Wednesday.
Miss Helen Waid, who has been attending school at Richmond, is spending a few days' vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Waid.
Miss Edna Thomas, of Markle, and Vaughn Fishbaugh recently visited with the latter's grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Griffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meyers were in Bluffton Friday.
Vaughn Fishbaugh spent Thursday in Fort Wayne.
Roy DeHaven, of Fort Wayne, has returned home after a visit in the George Althouse home.
Mr. and Mrs. Cal. Chaney and sons, Tennis, Donald and Maurice, have been visiting in the Jont Brickley home, west of town.
Miss Grace Chopson, of Warren, is spending a few days with Viola Brickley.
Miss Bernice Griffin is home from Fort Wayne.
Arnold Lew and Ross Ewert, of Markle, attended the music recital at this place Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schuck, of Huntington, and Mr. and Mrs. Eli Haflich, of near Bluffton, and Charles Haflich and wife spent Friday in the William Alfred Haflich home, west of town.
A music recital and watch meeting was held at the M. E. church Friday night. A line program was rendered. For about two hours the orchestra displayed some very fine talent, receiving enthusiastic appreciation. Selections were rendered by the ladies' chorus, the men's chorus and some congregational singing. Little Edith Hoffacher gave a reading, Evylin McAfee sang a solo and Miss Chopson whistled to her own piano solo. Margaret Kain also sang a solo. A very interesting spelling contest was staged, using Bible names. Just before the last half hour of the old year refreshments were served. The collection was taken for the benefit of the orchestra.
The Rev. Jessie Bogue (Hogue?), area secretary of Indiana, will show stereopticon pictures of the great work done by the church all over the world. The pictures will be shown at the M. E. church Thursday night, January 6.
Revival meetings will begin at the M. E. church Sunday night, January 9.
