I have reason to believe that at one time in the late 1800's,possibly early 1900's, my g-grandfather Absalom Funk and his wife, Margaret Ann (Bowers)Funk, lived in the Bluffton area and that at least one of their children, Rachael, was born thereabouts. The one daughter, Susie, married a Frank Willis Garrett. Also, a son, Cyrus Funk, b. 1886, was possibly born thereabouts and married an Inskeep daughter from Wells County. Any information on any of these persons would be greatly appreciated.

Cyrus Funk married Elizabeth Inskeep daughter of William H. Inskeep and Margaret Dye

Cyrus and Elizabeth had 3 children, Hubert who died at a CCC camp, Cyrus Jr. who never married, and Margaret who was married to Pedro Ortiz.

Margaret approx. 88yrs. old and Cyrus jr. approx. 84 still live in Clarksville, TX

Wells County

My mother is a niece of Margarets.

We are related in a couple of different ways. Absolom was one of the founders of Wells County, Indiana, and his name appears frequently in early records. Abolom's sister, Leah, was my great-great grandmother. A grandson of Absolom's, Charles Rinear Funk, married a cousin of mine also. In addition, I'm related to the Inskeeps on my mother's side and have pretty good records on them if you have any questions.
