DEATH COMES FOR RICH VALLEY FARMER
The death of John
Dunphy, 77, who had resided on a farm near here the last 15 years occurred Sunday evening at 8:10 o'clock in the home of his daughter, Mrs. levi
Ridenour of rural route 3, Wabash. He had been in failing health for several years and had been bedfast in the home of his daughter the last six weeks.
He was born in Ohio on April 4, 1863, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Dunphy. He was a former employe of the Peru basket factory.
Mrs. Dunphy died 12 years ago. One daughter, two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, John

Dunphy, Wabash, the daughter Mrs. levi
Ridenour, Wabash, also 23 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the Costin-Bond funeral home at Peru to await funeral arrangements.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Costin-Bond funeral home in Peru with the Rev. Paul A. Welsh officiating. Burial will be in
Falls cemetery at Wabash.

Funeral services for John R. Dunphy, 60, of 353 W. 13th St., Peru, who died at 3 pm Thursday in the C&O Hospital,
Huntington W.V., will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert
Zahn will officiate and burial will be in the
Falls Cemetery.
Mr. Dunphy, in failing health for six months, was a yard engineer in the oiler division of the C&O Railroad, Peru. He was born Oct. 6, 1899 in

The decedent was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Peru. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Dunphy, Wabash RR1. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Hoover-Miner Funeral Home after 7 pm Sunday. Rosary se4rvices will be held at 7:30 pm Monday in the funeral home.

Wabash County, died suddenly of a heart attack at 5:45 pm Tuesday in his home.
The decedent was born Fe. 14, 1890 to John and Kathryn (

Mr. Dunphy, a farmer, was employed by Brodbeck Seed Company. He was a member of the Dora Christian Church.

Wabash County. He preceded her in death Oct. 15, 1957.

Services were held Feruary 25 at 2 pm at Grandstaff-Hentgen-Miner Funeral Home. Rev. Guy Mowery officiated. Burial was in
Friends Cemetery.

Eddingfield Mortuary for Mrs. Patsy M. Brooks, 29, 660 Columbus St., who died in the
Cleveland Clinic,
Cleveland, O., Monday at 4:30 an. Mrs
Brooks had been in failing health three months.
She was a Wabash resident 14 years and was born in McLeans-
boro, IL, March 1, 1933 to Larkjin B. and
Lucinda (Gossage) Allen.
She married Carl L. Brooks.
Survivors include the parents, the husband, a son, Barrie, a daughter Patsy Carla, two sisters, Mrs. Paul French and Mrs. Thelma Faulkner, McLeansboro. One brother and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Brooks belonged to the Hopewell Baptist Church, McLeansboro, Il.

Lafontaine, died at 8:32 am Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center.
He was born on April 20, 1925 in Jonesboro, to
Bert and Glenna (Walser)
Powell. He married Janice
Brooks on Dec. 28, 1951. She survives.
Mr. Powell retired from Brown from Wabash and also was a farmer. He was a member of the Dora Christian Church.

Powell, all of Wabash; one sister, Dalice Buzzard, North Manchester; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers, eight half brothers, one sister, and a half sister are deceased.
Services will be at 10 am Saturday at the McDonald Funeral Home
Lafontaine Chapel. Evangelist Bill Cook will officiate. Burial will be in the Gardens of memory cemetery,
Huntington County.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 pm Friday.
