Thank-you. My Foreman family came to Knox County, Indiana from Washington County,Pennsylvania by 1802. The Hollingsworth connection was Racheal Hollingsworth, d/o Isaac who married Jonathan Martin around 1852 in Paris, Illinois. They lived in Coles County, Illinois.Isaac died young and the mother married a QUAIL.Theymay have been Quakers. Does the Hollingworth fit in your family?

The Hollingsworths were in Vermillion County before 1830, and came from Ohio. The Foremans were in Vermillion County before 1840 and also came from Ohio. My interests in these names is primary due to the intermarriages with my Bush family tree.

Bob
Hello,
I am new at searching for relatives, but need help locating a grave-site. I have located a receipt for Anthony W Weaver in Perrysville, Ind. The receipt says "Pvt. Co. B 63 Regt Ind." then there are 2 words I can not read. "Cemetery Hicks, Perrysville Ind. Contracted June 1897. Vt. Marble Co. Procter Vt. " I know the date of the death was 1875. He was a Union Solider. This receipt is attached to his name on Ancestry.com. I would appreciate any help I can get verifying this information. I would really like to have any info on the marker that I can get. We are looking for the name of his wife and parents. His wife should be Anna Bennett Weaver. We are wondering if she is also buried there. Thank you.

John,

Nova George Pyle is the way Mary's father filed his World War I draft registration and shows his birth date as 22 Feb 1885 born in Monroe, Hart County, KY. I think his parents would be William and Carrie Pyle.

Mary's mother is Lydia Amanda James of my primary research into the Hester family. Lydia was the daughter of Benton E. James and Laura A. Nicholas of the Montgomery and Putnam County, IN, area. They married on 23 August 1905 in Montgomery County, IN.

According to an old Hester Family History published in 1931, James W. Walter(s) and Mary Catherine Pyle married on 29 September 1927. Mildred was their first born in 1928 and your files are correct that they were in St. Louis in 1930. Found Wesley's death certificate in St. Louis but did not know about Donald.

If you wish more details, contact me directly. While the boards are great for making contact, they are not well suited for sharing large amounts of detail.

Regards,
Charlie Templer
Overland Park, KS

Susannah Hutchinson 1780 to April 1830

I have a great, great, great grandmother named Susannah Hutchinson who is listed in the 1820 U.S. Census, Vigo County and the 1830 U.S. Census for Vermillion County Indiana. She has been transcribed by one person as Jeremiah Hutchinson in the 1820 Vigo Census. She is buried in the very old part of Helt's Cemetery. I have a picture of the stone with her name, year of birth and date of death. She was born 1780 in possibly Vermont and died April of 1830 in Helt's Prairie, Indiana. She is not only a true "Pioneer of Indiana", but the mother of one of the area's noted citizens, Volney Powers Hutchinson, who married Mary Jane Armstrong (Denehie). Volney had a sister named Viola who married Thomas Aldridge or Oldridge and moved to Conway Arkansas.

We have been looking for the name of Volney's father or Susannah's husband for a number of years. Volney was orphaned at 12 years of age and apprenticed out to become a carpenter. We are unable to locate a court record or any information concerning Volney's father.

Does anyone have information that may help us? We believe Susannah's maiden name was Powers. Viola was born 1811 in Vermont, Volney was born 20 April 1818 in Ohio.

Dear Joyce could you contact my E Mail at stephensjt@juno.com. I'd like to know more about my ggg grandfathers family and you have a lot of information about them. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks a lot Jim Burkhart/Stephens

Dear Neil, According to the records I have from my grandmother the family goes accordingly. 1.
Jimmy Franklin Burkhart JR B 9/06/1966 M 9/04/1993 NO children.
2. My mother Patti Jean Mildner b 5/18/1951 m Jim Burkhart SR 08/1966 divirced in 1969 remarried Chester First 1970 she had two children from this marriage. Anelique Antoinette First and Samuel Antonio First. More info about them is available if u like but back to the line.
3. Her mother is Dorothy Marie Hallb 6/8/1928 m 10/20/1946 to Albert George Mildner( had 4 5 children) div m Clyde Westenhaver(no children) died 10/11/2004.
4. Her Father is Jessee Lee Littleton Hall. Different records say he was born in different years. but according to the census he was born in 1897.July 02/1897. He married Mary Alberta Showwalter in 1928 in Terre Haute IN. They had 6 children I believe. I have her funeral notice.
5. His Father is Adam Henry Hall born 1869. However there is someconfusion about his birthdate. The 1860 census says there was an Adam born in 1856. in IL. Regardless of his birth date or if it was the right Adam, We'll need to check the 1870 census forthat information. According to the 1910 census he was born in 1867. in the 1830 census he was born in 1868. so I'll go for 1867. He married Susanna Harpold 1873 d 5/20/1851 in Vigo CY IN, on 1/10/1891 in Vigo CY IN Vigo CY capitol is Terre Haute. He died in 1940 in Vigo CY IN
6. His Father is Littleton Hall. The 1860 census has him at 34 meaning he would have been born in 1825-1826. The 1880 census says he is 57 which would have him born around 1823.He married three times. the second is my descent. She was Susan Collins-Wilson-Hall. They married 12/28/1856. How many children they had I will need to get from the 1870 and 1880 census. I received an E mail from a Joyce Shannon Zandri that tells me his parents were William Veach Hallwho died in 1837 and Phoebe Taylor. That is where I am at for that family and I d like to go further and also come forward.

Have you tried contacting the Public Library in Clinton? They have awesome genealogy records. It is kind of difficult to find certain records in Vermillion Co because a lot were lost due to fire at the Court House in the 1920's. I don't know if you have ever tried these links:

http://home.att.net/~Local_History/Vermillion-Co-IN.htm

http://genealogytrails.com/ind/vermillion/

The library really is a good source. And if.... the person or persons were buried locally, chances are Frist was the funeral home. They are very helpful too. I got a lot from them. I lived in Clinton for 30 years. Live in Florida now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, if I cant help, I m sure my parents will know locations.
Does anyone know a local historian who could give me clues to where else to look. I need to find his parents who are hopefully listed. Any help or clues I would deeply appreciate.

Good evening again sir,

I jsut read your 11 Mar. 2001 post and you do have the correct clan. I always believed my great grandmother name was mary but I might be incorrect as I never met her. The childrens names however are completly correct with what I might find one possible exception, I have never heard of a sibling named Dona I do have a God sister named Donna which was the daughter of Mary's oldest girl Marylou.

I may be incorrect withthe fact as I am Steve's grandson and he passed in 1978 and my father followed in 1998 leaveing me no resource to question. I can tell you however that Anna passed 3 days after my grandfather in May of 1978 and Aunt Helen followed perhaps 18mos later or so. Andy passed in 1939 of Lou Gehrigs disease and Mary of some type of cancer I believe in the 50s I think as it was prior to me coming along in 1965. Tom of all the siblings lived longest I believe to his 90s and was the last Semancik to leave Blanford.

Good evening Mr Kessler I think I might be able to help you with some pertanant information on Helen Semancik of Blanford Indiana. First she was my grand aunt and she was a spinster(never married). Her mother however was married to a man named Steven yet her name was Mary. Now my grand aunt did have a yougner brother named Steven which was my granfather. I would be very curious to correspond with you as I am not familiar wth yoru name in connection with any of my family history and ther was only one Semancik clan to inhabit Blanford at any point in time.

Sincerely
Steven A Semancik
seasick217@hotmail.com
