Hello,

Looking for more info on Isaac J Brown. Had children, Nathaniel, Hamlet, Samuel, Editha, Eliza. I think most of these children were born in Union county in the early 1820's. Have an old family letter stating that General Ambrose Burnsides and Nathaniel Brown were cousins and have an old family photo of them in Civil war uniforms standing in front of a horse. This means that Isaac must be related to John Brown and Sarah Weeks somehow. By looking at census records, I figure that Isaac was born around 1796. Could he be a son of John and Sarah? Isaac lived in Dublin in Wayne county during the Civil War. I think he died there between 1865 and 1870.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I saw your posting and was wondering if Nathaniel Brown had any relatives by the name of Rueben Brown. This Ruben Brown married Jane Gaard Benton. Rueben was her 2nd husband. They lived in Wayne and Noble County.

Any info appreciated.

Thanks,
Gwen

I have information about my family tree but I am not sure if it will help as the names do not exactly match.
One of my ancestors was Barbara Brown, 1828 -1898 living in the eastern edge of Fayette County on a farm with had the Union Cty line as its eastern edge. I have Barbara Brown's linage back several generations to the revolutionary war. Here are the names that might match.

Barbara was one of 3 female children (Barabara, Elzabeth and Margaret) born to Issac Brown and Anna Wetzell.

Issac Brown - (1800 - 1875)

Issac Brown was the 3rd son of Michael Brown (1776-1849) and Barbara Knipp (1779-1841). I show 16 children, Samuel, Joseph, Issac, Hazekiah, Anna, Ally, Eliabeth, Benjamin, Polly, Rohema, Ephrim, William, Josiah, Rufus, Ludia, and Sophia.

I have the years on the above, if any of those names are of interest to you. I also have the earlier gerations of Micheal with some information on where they may have come from Wythe County Virginia.

Contact me if you think any of this is of interest.

Yes. Form the information that I have found, Margaret (1832-1906) was the third daughter of Issac Brown (1800-1875) and Anna Wetzell(dates unknown). Married July 3, 1824 in Fayette County)

Other sisters were, Barbara Ann (Brown) Nickels (1828-1898) and Elizabeth (dates unknown).

Barbars is a 3rd generation ancestor of mine. The family lived on a farm in Jennings TWP of Fayette County, Indiana. The farm got passed from the Brown name when Barbara married Thomas Nickels. Barbars is buried in the Dunlapsville Cemetary of Union County, Indiana.

Hope that helps?

Although an unrelated branch, if you would care to share information on the husband, dates, place and dates of marrage and place of burial, etc, etc. I would add to my list. I dont have burial info on Margaret

I read with great interest your query about Isaac J. Brown. Could you tell me a little more about him. Is he the one who married Margaret Harrell in Franklin County, Indiana. I have also have a Isaac J. Brown whose parents married in Franklin County, Indiana. They are William Brown and Sarah Brown. William Brown is the son of John Brown and Sarah Weeks. I am trying to ascertain who Isaac J. Brown is that married Miss Harrell and had the children you listed. My Isaac also married a Margaret...Margaret Coffin but there children were not named what you had. Also Gen Ambrose Burnside's mother Pamelia is the daughter of John Brown and Sarah Weeks. Very interesting as to how you came about the letter. I am very interested in seeing what it says. Who is Nathaniel Brown??? I also am curious now to know if your Isaac J Brown and my Isaac J. Brown could have been cousins. Would love to get this all figured out.
