JOHN A. CAREL, is one of the active and enterprising citizens of Stockwell, and is the senior member of the firm of Carel & Danelson, blacksmiths and carriage makers. This firm also has a general repair shop, doing repair work both in wood and iron, and by their close attention to business and accommodating manners toward their customers the members of the firm have built up a good trade. MR. CAREL is a native of Sweden, born in the southern part of the country, August 6, 1851, and is a son of CHARLES Carel, who is now a resident of Nebraska. He came to the United States in 1868, in which year he located in Attica, Indiana, where he learned his trade. He came to Stockwell, this county, in 1876, where he has lived, engaged in working at his trade. He was united in marriage November 4, 1884, to MISS AUGUSTA HOGMAN, and to them have been born one child, a daughter named LILLIE. Both MR. and MRS. CAREL are Methodists in their religious belief. He is a member of the Odd Fellows and Masonic orders.
