JEREMIAH M. BRAZIER, residing on section 11, Lauramie Township, was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, the date of his birth being November 16, 1820. His father, WILLIAM BRAZIER, who is now deceased, was also a native of Ohio, born in Butler County. Our subject was reared to the vocation of a farmer, which he has always followed, receiving his education in the common and graded schools of his native county. He accompanied his mother to Tippecanoe County, Indiana, in 1837, and setteled in Lauramie Township, but returned to Ohio, in 1840. He was married September 7, 1848, to MISS MARY WOOLEY, a daughter of SILAS WOOLEY, deceased. Eleven children were born to this union, seven of whom still survive, their names being as follows--MARTHA J., ALICE, WILLIAM, IDA, GEORGE H., RUTH and ANNA.

MR. BRAZIER served his country during the war of the Rebellion as First Lieutenant of the Jefferson Grays of Hamilton County, Ohio, under Captain Wilson. He participated in the battle of Franklin, but most of his military service was spent in inspecting horses and mules for the Government.

He returned to Tippecanoe County in 1865, and has since resided in Lauramie Township, where he has a fine farm of 133 acres. For fourteen years he was engaged in shipping stock, and is now devoting his attention to general farming and stock-raising. MRS. BRAZIER is a member of the Baptist church.
