Henry Andrews, believed born in PA, married Jane Carson. It is believed the family came down the Ohio River from Pittsburgh. They stopped in Portsmouth, Hamilton County, OH, where Henry Carson Andrews I was born Oct. 2, 1798. By around 1820 the family was in Switzerland Co., IN. Henry Carson Andrews I married Amanda Chambers on Jan. 23, 1823, in Switzerland Co. In 1825 Henry Carson and Amanda Andrews moved to Bartholomew Co., IN.

Henry Andrews other children are believed to be Susan who married John Lyons, Eliza who married Henry Demaree, and Bine who married a Schofield. They married in and stayed in Switzerland Co.

Henry Carson's will was probated in Hamilton Co., OH, and one of the heirs was Henry Carson Andrews I, his nephew. Another heir was his daughter, Jennie Andrews.

Would like to know how Henry Carson Andrews I is related to Henry Carson of Ohio. I descend from Henry Carson Andrews I through his son, Henry Carson Andrews II. Any information about the children of Henry Carson Andrews I would be appreciated and I will share the information I have on Henry Carson Andrews I and Henry Carson Andrews II. Thank you.

I am a decendant of Elizabeth Andrews Demaree. would you mind giving me the names and dates on her parents and siblings? Sorry I can't help you with your quest of the Carson connection, but as you see, my info on the family is very limited.

Did my reply of Mar. 3, 2002, give any information that would connect Eliza Andrews who married Henry Demaree with your Elizabeth Andrews Demaree? Since last replying to your query we have found the family of Margaret Andrews and Stephen Ransom Tinker and a lead on the family of Ruth Andrews and Abraham Tinker

I did not check the message board, and did not get your reply on Mar. 3. My Elizabeth Andrews was born April 26,1813 in Ohio. and died April16 1888 in Switzerland co. IN She married Henry Demaree on May6 or 9 1833 In Switzerland co. IN. but how many Elizabeth Andrews could of married Henry Demaree's in one county. Could I have the wrong one for your connection?

We may have two individuals here rather than one. The Eliza Andrews in my line was born Sept. 15, 1808, in Hamilton Co., Ohio, and died Feb. 8, 1848, in Switzerland Co., Indiana. The source is "Switzerland County, Indiana Cemetery Inscriptions 1817-1985" by Wanda L. Morford. "Note: Date of birth calculated from age. Text: Andrews, Eliza, d. Feb., 1848 aged 39 y 4 m 23 d." "Early Switzerland County, IN Marriages From Indiana State Library" lists Andrews, Eliza to Demaree, Henry - May 6, 1833. (I would guess May 6 is the day the marriage license was issued and May 9 the date of the marriage.) My Eliza is shown buried in the Allensville Cemetery, Cotton Township, Switzerland County, Indiana. At the time I found this information I questioned why Eliza's gravestone had the last name Andrews rather than Demaree. I do not understand why the marriage record shows Eliza rather than Elizabeth. Do you know where your Elizabeth and Henry Demaree are buried? I have no record of my Eliza having children. Let's pursue this further as the birth and death dates differ.

Marjorie,
My name is Christy Andrews. I am Ruby Andrews' grand-daughter and I thank you for giving her credit for her work on our family's geneology. I'm not sure if you are aware, but she died April 5, 2009. My heart was broken when she passed away. I am grateful that all of her geneology information was passed on to me. If there is anything that I can help with, please let me know.

Thank you,
Christy
