I am looking for information about the family and descendants of John Hammond and his 1st and 2nd wives: Nancy Pinkston Hammond and Louisa Joseph Kelly Hammond. John was born in Owen Co. Ky in 1816. He left Ky. to work as an engineer on a steamboat at age 16. John married Nancy in 1842 and Louisa in 1858. He served in the 6th Ind. Cav. during the Civil War and the family first resided at Merom and later maybe at Carlisle. I am descended from John's son Charles E. Hammond. Looking for descendants of this family. Louisa was living in Sullivan Co. in 1923, the year of her death. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
