I am researching the family of John Cox and Judah Giswold. I recently learned that their younger children lived with a Booker family in Sullivan County, Indiana.

Can anyone give me further information? I know that John died in 1869 and Judah in 1874. Their youngest would have been born about 1869.

My husband descends through King Phillip Cox, their son and his wife, Lucy Wright

Goodspeed's 1884 "History of Greene & Sullivan counties, Indiana..." on page 144 lists the following:

"John G. Dyer and Daniel Brakirons recruited men late in September.
The company of Capt Elijah Edington was raised in September and
became Company C of the Forty-third Regiment, rendezvoneed at Terre Haute." ... "John Cox, discharged 1864, disability;"
