Harriet Labadie, daughter of Richard Labadie and Brother of Captain Lewis Labadie (Civil War) was born at the Pottawatomie Indiana Settlement that Chief Pokagon (Notre Dame graduate) had bought. St. Mary Church was there. Silver Creek Township near Dowagiac,Cass County,Michigan USA. She maried Francis Xavier Cabanaw and had Raised 15 kids with 6 born in Canada and 9 in USA in Michigan and Indiana. Ida Cabanaw later married Jacob Jacomet.
Ottawa, Chippewa and Pottawatomie were friendly tribes
Anthony Louis Descombs dit Labadie had 33 kids by 3 wifes. His second wife was Marie, a indian princess. This is where it gets murky. She was likely a Chippewa princess but others claim she was daughter of Pontiac, Ottawa Chief who led rebellion against England. Pontiac also sold a slave Mannon to Anthony Louis who sometimes gets confused with Marie.
