Obituary: Mrs. Christina (
Krause)
Kanzler was born January 2, 1839 at
Blankenberg, Bavaria. Here her childhood was spent. In 1850 she emigrated with her parents and many relatives to
America. After a short stay at Cincinnati they came to
Spencer county where the rest of her life was spent. In 1860 she was united in marriage with Mr. Fredrick
Kanzler. To them were born nine children, six sons and three daughters, five of whom and the husband have answered the final summons. Mrs. Kanzler was a member of the
German Evangelical church for more than fifty years, living a consistent Christian life, beloved by all who knew her for her gentle and sympathizing disposition. She was taken sick about five weeks before her death with a paralytic stroke which left her very weak, and on February 11th, a second attack came, death ensuing very suddenly. She leaves of her immediate family one daughter and three sons, namely Mrs. George Schnicker, Frederick, Charles and Rev. Gustave. Besides these fourteen grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline
Bockstahler and Mrs. H.F. Tonnemacher, besides many relatives and friends are left to mourn the sudden death of one loves so dearly. Funeral services was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Chas. Meyer, Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 at the home and was attended by a large concourse of friends. The remains were laid to rest under a covering of floral designs in the family lot in the
