I have a Ripley map that shows the land call for my ancestor. He owned 40 acres; SENE in section 19 Twn. 6 N. Range 10 E in 1837 Ripley County, Ind.
Why are sections 19,30 & 31 of Township 6 Range 10east in Jennings County instead of Ripley County in this current plat map? Were there changes in Jennings Co. and Ripley Co. after 1837? I am in need of help in understanding just where my ancestor's land was located. Thanks for any help. ER

I do not show changes after 1837, here is a link to an interactive map that shows County boundaries from the formation of the state.

I do know from doing research in the area people moved back and forth across county lines, and the county lines moved around so it is good to research in neighboring counties.
