I just replied to this one on the Delaware Country Board before I realized that, yes, you had probably already posted on the Randolph Country Board.

Glen E. Halstead was my great-uncle's son (second cousin?) and
I and other members of the family, I'm sure, would greatly appreciate any pictures you might have. A trip to the Phillipines is not in our near future. :)

I forgot. The e-mail address associated here with my name is a good one for me.

I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience I may have caused. The list I have displays Glen E. Halstead Missing in Action or buried at sea. As I understand it at this point his name appears on the Missing lists here and there is no grave. We would appreciate any information about Glen's life or his military service.

I had read somewhere that there was a memorial with his name on it somewhere there in the Phillipines. Right now, I am unable to find where I wrote it down (of course!) but I will look for it today. The memorial is on Fort McArthur, I think (or some other fort named for a US military member. :) )

I know very little about his life due to a family schism created when my grandfather left the Quaker church (my interpretation. :) The people who I have been able to talk to don't know much at all about my grandfather and none of my father's siblings know much about that part of the family so I'm assuming that since my grandfather married a non-Quaker and did not follow the religion, that that is the most likely explanation.) I will look and see what information I do have on Glen.

Tracey, I am a member of Jericho Friends so I have a few connections there for you as well. Also, you want to try another route on Friends records, go to www.raogk.com go to find a volunteer, go to IN, go to R to Z and find the volunteer there who has Friends Records access. And from there we can track him somewhat. Andrea

Hi Andrea, good to hear from you. Help me out a little if you can . . . are you wanting a photo of Halstead or his name on the wall or something else. Want to make sure I get it correct. Dave

Dave, I didn't realize you had photos of the men as well, I will take both their photos and tombstone shots as well. Looking forward to giving these fellows a home. Send to sharplongancestors@yahoo.com, I will be putting them on the Museum's web page for the Veterans of the County.
