Cathy,
Another Mills researcher, Mary Kay, answered my email to her concerning Jacob Mills -b: 1793 and wife Mary -age 46 with children Morgan and Joseph N. who are listed on the 1850 Randolph Co., IN census.
I also have info of a 1860 Census for Randolph Co., IN for: Charles Redforth -76 b: CT Farmer
Mary H. -wife age 56 b. SC
Morgan -age 3
Joseph N. -age 1
Mary W. (?) age 8 b. IN (Idiotic)
Seems Charles Redforth or Redpath may have died before 1870 but that is not confirmed. He may have also gone to Minnesota - see info below.
Here's what Mary Kay found -
1870 MN Census
Mary Kay found your Mary Redpath (mary typed Redpath not Redforth) in Houston Co., MN. - Black Hammer :
Mary had died of Consumption in June of 1870 at age 65 -b:c 1804/05 KY.
It looks like in 1870 MN Mary was living with or living close to her son also in Houston, MN on 1870 census:
Joseph N. Mills - age 22 b. IN Common Laborer
Margaret - wife age 27 b. IN Keeping House
Phebe -dau age 1 -b. IN
1880 IN census:
Joseph N. Mills and family returned to INDIANA for 1880 Census -Nottingham Twp., Wells County, IN
Mills, Joseph N. - age 32 . IN Farmer
Margaret A.(Adams) -wife 37, b. IN Keeping House
Phebe J. - dau age 11 b. IN at school
Silas N. - son age 9 b. MN at school
I have much more background on the Mills families who are thought to be possible brothers to Jacob Mills -b: 1793, but it is way to much info to write here.
