I have an ancestor, Riller/Arilla Perkins that married a Hiram Bartlett in 1849 Rush Co, Indiana-- she was listed with sons or possibly step sons on the 1850 Rush Co census living with her parents, but no Hiram in the household! She later went on to have other children named as children of Hiram Bartlett before the 1860 census. She remarried a Peter Enos in 1859. On the 1860 census Riller has her Bartlett children with her. I found a Hiram Bartlett age 56 on the 1850 census, living with the Benton Bartlett family. Do you have or know any info on Hiram Bartlett of Putnam Co? Kathy

I am interested in this inquiry because I too am hunting for a Hiram Bartlett who was my g-greatgrandfather, He married Olive Freeman and I was wondering if he might be the one who was listed in the 1830 Rush Co. Indiana census. The configuration of the ages of the family members is correct. Tell me more about your Hiram who married in 1849.

I am trying to trace Nathan BARTLETT's ancestry - either by paper trail back in KY or by DNA of BARTLETT descendants in Putnam (I believe Nathan descends from one of two families who were in Harding Co, KY - we have DNA on both lines.

How do you know that John BARTLETT was a son of Nathan and Rebecca (LEE) BARTLETT? This info would help me a lot.

Thanks;

Her spouse was Jacob Samuel Crosby, son of William and Katharine (Moss) Crosby who was b. 8 June 1806 in Mason Co., KY and who d. 6 May 1888 in Putnam Co., IN. The move from KY to IN is indicated in Mason Co., KY records that show Jacob ‘L.’ Crosby granted John Osborne Power of Attorney. In brief, it states John Osborne of Putnam Co.
