names,places of burial i maybe able to find cemetary for you, need the names however.don't know if you live in evansville,but if you go west on diamond,you'll run into parkersettlement. it's where the road runs into 2 lanes.use to be a tavern there.

My great-great grandfather was William Smith Hayes. He was born 1838 in New York and married Eliza J. Shutt in McLean County , Kentucky in 1863. They mostly lived in McLean, but for a short time around 1870 they lived in Spencer County Indiana. Is he possibly listed in the George A Hays family Bible? I cannot find any of his ancestors or what happened to him after 1880. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

One of my sources is the Slafter Memorial book, p. 116 which states that Adaline, dau. of Oliver... etc. I have a copy of this book as well. This book documents the ancestry of her husband, David Ames Slater's family.

Would appreciate any proof/source you have regarding Hannah Bentley being the mother of Adaline Shippee. Records indicate that Adaline was born in 1821 and Oliver married Hannah Bentley in 1823. Would love to see your source for this info as it would clear up a major "brickwall" for me.

I am looking for any Morlock's from Montana state. My grandfather grew up there, family from Germany. He left at a young age from the ranch and ended up joining the army. Married my grandmother Gertrude and lived in California for the rest of his life. Raised 3 children. His name was Theodore Morlock, my name is Valerie Zoe' Morlock. I would love to find family and find out more about my grandfather's family. He would have been 93 today if he was still alive. If I remember right one of his sibling's name was Fred? Hi Ken, I don't know whether Richard and Hannah are the parents of William born 1809, their places of birth coincide but that's the only connection I can make. Wm and Tacy's children were Wlliam Calvert, Frank E, George Washington, Emma Olive, Benjamin, and Anna Belle. The Saltzman family has ties in Posey CO., as well as Butler, PA. Hope this helps

Searching for Theodore Goss family, came from Clermont Co OH abt 1857 to Posey Co IN. Found in 1860-1880 census for Smith Twp. Theo & Rachel married in Clermont Co abt 1848.

Son George went to Franklin Co IN 1870's, married Ellen Woodworth.

Theodore's father Joseph came with them when wife Juliana died in Clermont CO OH 1854.

Looking for obituaries, death records, cemeteries...

Do you have any information on Christian Morlock Sr's wife Louisa? We are trying to find out her maiden name. We believe she and Christian Sr came over to America around 1830. They first lived in Cincinnati, Ohio before coming to Posey County, Indiana. Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Abijah Duckworth is Dead.
A telegram was received in this city [Mt. Vernon, IN] Friday evening, announcing the death of Mr. Abijah Duckworth, which took place in a hospital in that city [St. Louis, MO] at noon, where he had been under treatment since June last. His remains were brought to this city, his former home, and interred in the Moore cemetery, Sunday at 2 p.m. The deceased leaves a wife and one child, besides a mother and several sisters and brothers to mourn his death."

You are on the money. Only difference I see is that Rebecca Hogan and James McFadden is probably Andrew or James Andrew McFadden called Andrew "Slim Andrew" in Posey Co, IN.

Do you have any further back on Vollie Hogan I believe her parents maybe Raleigh and Margaret Conway. What do you think.

Is there a Hogan family association.

My 6th cousin & I are researching our Posey Co. Olivers, specifically the children of John & Jane Oliver: Elizabeth (Downen), Samuel, Susannah (Lewis), James, William & Joseph. We would like to contact a living male descendant of this line with the OLIVER surname who would be willing to participate in DNA testing, at our expense, in an attempt to tie our line in with other earlier lines.

My information agrees with that previously sent to you. I have connections to both the Downen and Oliver lines in Posey Co. My 6th cousin and I have been working on the Oliver line. He has been trying to locate a living male Oliver descendant, with the Oliver surname. Would you have any knowledge of anyone?

According to my records, Anna Jane Cleveland Williams, and William F. Cleveland are also buried there.

Also, in Cynthiana, at the Liberty Cemetary, Charles Scott Cleveland and James Wm. Cleveland are buried, and at the Old Town Cemetary Leland Cleveland is buried.

This is what I have on Sebastian Hertel. He was born on Feb 28th, 1810 in Elbach, Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France and died on April 24th, 1884. He is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Herman, Sheboygan Co, Wisconsin.

Anna Marie Kindler was born on Jan 1st, 1810 in Elbach, Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France and died on Feb 7th, 1905 in Chilton, Calumet Co, Wisconsin. She is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Chilton, Wisconsin.

I attached two files for you to look at. Let me know if that works here. One was the 1870 US Census showing Sebastian, his wife Mary, John and Joseph. The 2nd one is from the Sheboygan Press and shows a picture of your Gr Grandfather John.

George and Nancy have a very colorful history to say the least. I was only able to trace George and Nancy back to there marriage in western Kentucky in 1808 (/). Do you have anything earlier? My grandfather Henry Thie had a farm in Point Township from 1907 until 1917. It was said to be 5 miles out of Mt Vernon. He is listed in the 1910 census. I dont know if he owned or rented. My grandmother also ran a country store probably on the property. I have not found him or the people near him in the 1910 census on early land maps. The 1910 Mt Vernon City directory lists his address as Rural Free Delivery 14. I hope someone from Posey county can give me the boundry of RFD 14.

Bob, I went back through the Hertel history that the Hertel priest wrote which said there were 7 sons, 3 daughters. I could only find info for 4 sons like you said.
Joseph's brother Sebastian (my g grandfather) was born in 1844 but I don't know the month & day. He died 2/2/1881. Their sister Mary Anna was born 11/1/1838 and died 2/8/1998.
Do you have the birth & death dates for Sebastian & Anna Marie Kindler? I don't know it.

Ebenezer Curtis

I am looking for info on an Ebenezer Curtis born about 1824 in Indiana. He is on the 1850 census for Pulaski Co. Il. There is also a Daniel Curtis living there who might be his brother. By 1860 Ebenezer Curtis moved to Mississippi Co. Mo. an then in 1870 to Scott Co. Mo. His wife was Diantha or Dora born in Illinois. Their children are: Mary Elizabeth, George Washington, William Franklin, Francis M. and Alonzo Curtis.

Family of Edward Hogan and Elizabeth Hendrix Hogan; daughter Rebecca Hogan married James McFaddin in early 1800s possibly in Sumner or Warren Cos TN. Another daughter, Delilia Hogan married Moses Burleson 9 March 1805 in Warren Co TN.

Also have the Volly Hogan born in Anson Co NC in about 1749, who married Aaron III Burleson in about 1775 in possibly Montgomery Co NC, son of Aaron II Burleson who died in Washington Co TN on 16 Nov 1781.

Any connection??
