I recently visited the Blake cemetery in Parke County Indiana. I was searching with my mother-in-law for the gravesite of her sister, Shirley Arlene Jeffries, that was stillborn 08/10/36 and buried in the Blake cemetery.
We were unable to locate it at the time since we did not know her tombstone listed her as Jeffrey infant. We spoke with another relative who did some research in Rockville and found that she is buried alongside the graves of Jesse K. Blake and Jane A. Blake. They told us it is near a Plot 8 marker
At the website
http://members.tripod.com/-Karoann/BLAKE.html I found their dates listed as Jesse K. Blake 1817-1875 and Jane A. Blake 02/21/1820 - 09/19/1821?
I reviewed some video that I took that day and from what I can read Janes tombstone reads "Jane A. wife of Jesse K. ..." I can not make the dates from the video except for born on the 21st day and died on the 19th day. Also in my video is a grave marker for "Jesse K. born " and that is all that was on the top of a broken off tombstone. To the right of both of these is a tombstone for "Addie A. daughter of J.K & E. Blake died Aug ?, 1879 . . . " It was very rainy that day and some of the tombstones are hard to read. I do not see the marker for the Jeffrey infant in my video.
I am not sure is this is the Jesse Kilgore Blake you are inquiring about. We intend to return to the area in December of this year and do some more research by visiting the person with the cemetary records.
If you have any more information to share I would appreciate it. Let me know if I can assist you further.
