John A. was born 8 May 1814 in Shelby Co., KY married 1st to Julianna H./Julia Ann H. WHITLEDGE on 8 Feb 1838 in Bullitt Co., KY.

He is living in Lynchburg, Harris Co., TX in the 1860 Census. His children from his 1st marriage stayed in Texas. John, his 2nd wife and their two children, left Texas sometime after 1860 and went to Indiana and was never heard from again.

Children by 1st wife: William J. Clark, John Wesley Clark, Elizabeth Ann Clark, Harriett Susan Clark.

Children by 2nd wife: Thomas Cleland Clark and David Hiter Clark.

John A. Clark left Harris Co., TX and went to Terre Haute (Vigo Co., IN) and Rosedale (Parke Co., IN).
