LISLE, Ill. — Bruce R. Hiday II, 62, Lisle, died June 9, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room, Downer’s Grove.
He was born May 20, 1947, in Anderson, Ind., to Bruce R. and Shirley (Hodson) Hiday. He received a master’s degree in education and had taught history and was the head of the computer department at Pleasantdale School District 107, Burr Ridge, Ill., for a combined total of 30 years, retiring in 2005.
He was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., and the Ovid Masonic Lodge 142.
Survivors include his father, Bruce Hiday of Danville, Ind.; a sister, Vicki (Michael) Hart of Calhoun, Ga.; and two nieces, Amy Quarles of Calhoun, Ga., and Jennifer McKelvey of Fairbanks, Alaska.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Ind.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. (EST) Sunday at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, 102 S. Indiana St., Danville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced in Burr Ridge, Ill.
Contributions may be given to the Bruce Hiday Memorial Fund, c/o Pleasantdale Friendship Fund, 7450 S. Wolf Road, Burr Ridge, IL 60527.
