Dau Betsy md Joseph Thompson Clark 29 May 1822 in Owen Co. Their dau Nancy Jane Clark md William Smith 26 Jan 1860. Their only living child, Harvey is my great grandfather. Love to exchange with you. I have Hugh's military pension request, etc. Oh, Sally A. Clark md Edward Parrish. That should tie it up.

Phyllis, in your family would there also be a Rose GASTON, and if so, would she have turned up in White County, IL?
Perhaps the family moved from Owen County? I am also looking for information on George E. RENO.

It is possible that Rose is a daughter of Hershcel Gaston and Etta (?Durling?) Hershcel married Etta in White Co. IL in 1907. In 1917 he was living in Defiance Co. OH. Then he is found in Henry Co. IL in 1920. He is shown to be age 39 with his father b. OH and mother b. IN. This fits his parents David Gaston and his wife, Martha Parrish. David was the son of Harrison and Margaret Gaston. Martha was the daughter of Helen and Zebedee Parrish. David and Martha married in Owen County, Indiana and had two-three sons. I have been having difficulty in locating the where abouts of Martha after David died in the 1880's. And finding a link to their son Herschel took a stoke of luck on my part. I haven't fully documented his line but have two children listed, Helen E b. 1910 and Don R. b. 1920. It seems with that age gap there is plenty of room to have had more chilfren. Does Rose look like a fit? I would like to discuss this further with you. Contact me at my email address. Phyllis

Phyllis, I would tend to think Rose would be born 1850 - 1865, which would eliminate her as Hershcel's daughter. Could she be a child of Harrison, or even David?
