I am a relative of Humphrey Smith, he was my GGGGGF, who settled in Orange County in 1817, and passed away in 1839. I recently obtained a copy of Humphrey's will, written in 1831, and two of the witnesses on the will were John Murray and Thomas Murray. While I have not proved it, I suspect that Thomas Murray may have been the father of John, and the father-in-law of Humphrey. Please contact me if you would like more information.
