Charles Henry Noble: b. May 10, 1843 in Dayton, O. In the Civil War, he enlisted June 10, 1861, in the Bracken Rangers, an independent company of cavalry. This company was afterwards united with Co. K, 1st Ind. Cav. He was discharged at Petersburg, Va, June 19, 1864. Although in many engagements in Western Va, and on the Rapidan, and at second Bull Run, Gettysburg, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg, and Petersburg, he received no wound. In 1866, he entered the regular service, as second lieutenant.

Reynolds and Milroy; escort to Generals Fremont, Sigel, and Howard in their Virginia campaigns; taken prisoner by the rebels at the battle of second Bull Run, Va.; joined Army of the Potomac and attached to the headquarters of the army, and engaged in the Richmond campaign to Juno, 1864: 2d lieutenant 16th Infantry Feb. 2-!, 1866; transferred to 34th Infantry Sept. 21, 1866 ; 1st lieutenant c4 Infantry Feb. 10, 1867 ; transferred to 16th Infantry April 14, 1869.
